What can I service for my BIS Monitoring System?

The stand alone Aspect BIS monitoring systems can be serviced to the level described in the Service Information manuals. Modular systems, such as those provided to you by Philips, Draeger, GE, Mindray, Spacelabs, Nihon Kohden, etc. are serviced by the OEM partner who sold them to you.

I confirmed that my DSC/BISx cable is damaged; how do I get it repaired?

If the damage is limited to only the cable assembly the individual cable may be replaced by following the repair procedure described in the system specific Service Information manual. If the damage is not limited to a cable please contact Technical Support toll free in the US at 800-442-2051 Monday through Friday from 7:00 am – 5:00 PM EST to arrange for service on your system. Should I leave the BIS monitor plugged into AC when powered down to maintain the backup battery?

The BIS VISTA and BIS VIEW monitor charge the battery when powered down, so connection to AC when not in use will maintain the backup battery charge.

The A-2000 only charges the internal battery when it is plugged in AND powered ON.

Is there Latex in the BIS sensors? Are they sterile?

There is no latex in the BIS sensors. BIS Sensors are not sterile. Our sensor packaging is labeled with this and other information. See the sensor box and individual sensor package for the specific international symbols that apply. For more information you may also read the sensor box insert and view the key to symbols in your monitor operating manual.
